Lee Liberty Forum

For the first time tonight, we’re going to try posting both an edited video of an event,  and also the raw footage. In this case, the event is the Lee Liberty Forum from Thursday (09-06-07):

The raw video footage is also available at Google Video for anyone who wants to take the time to see the whole event, and also so you can get a feel for the editing process.

Chuck and Mohammed, who were working behind the camera, both did a great job considering this was the first time they ever did something like this. (Me too!) The edit was done mainly to present something that can be viewed in a reasonable amount of time. The editing criteria I used was based mainly on time (keeping it under 10 minutes) and trying to get a feel for as much of the event as possible.

If you’re interested, I hope you’ll compare and contrast the two version. Feel free to let me know if you think I’ve edited out anything important. Remember our watchwords here are Transparency, Integrity, and Accountability.

Unfortunately, we didn’t really get a good raw reel from the kick-off dinner. Half our nascent camera crew of 2 was out sick, so the camera just sat on a tripod most of the night missing everything. We’ll keep the tape anyhow, and I’ll probably put the few extra shots we got to use, but unless anyone really feels like they’re being left out of the loop, I don’t see much point in posting it at this time.

In hindsight, there really wasn’t much to see. The event was mostly attended by old friends and family, and I think it was actually kind of nice to have one last mostly off camera event, before everything goes live in November.  There were also a few new friends there from Code Pink and  The Environmental and Peace Education Center, and we will be featuring more about these groups (among others) here in the near future…
