Lying Low

This site has been a little quiet, and to be honest, I’m just enjoying my last few weeks of anonymity before there are cameras everywhere. Today, I’m working on doing some remodeling on my Grandmother’s house in Cape Coral. This is actually the house I grew up in as well, and I’ve also been living here the last few years. My Grandmother and Mother still live here, and they’ve both always been a tremendous source of support. This seems like the least I can do for them before I move out again.

Everything is on track for November. I managed to get a small loan from family for $2,000 to get the house/campaign HQ set up. As I said before, I am really reluctant to start fundraising before the cameras are rolling.  I haven’t really starting asking yet, but we already have our first $1,000 pledge, so I’m confident  we’ll have no problems in this area. One of my first priorities, however, is to find an experienced campaign manager. So far I’ve only spent a few hundred dollars, well under the $5,000 allowed before reporting is required by the FEC, but that will change real soon.

In the meantime, I think I’ll continue to lie low. So if you’re wondering why you haven’t been seeing more of me, just remember I always prefer to hear that than “Oh no, not him again!”  And by this time next year, I’m sure I’ll be hearing more of that…
