Democratic Mockery
…And yet another reason to be disappointed with the Democratic Party as Stephen Colbert is rejected from the South Carolina Ballot. In all seriousness, it does make me wonder who’s really making a mockery of the democratic process.
Our wireless broadband modem arrived today, and I went out to do a quickly improvised wireless test. I drove from Cape Coral to Fort Myers Beach and back broadcasting the whole time. There were a few minor glitches and I can see where we’ll need to tweak the setup (particularly for the audio), but overall I was really impressed with the quality of the network. If it works as well as it did at 45mph, we should have no problem broadcasting from stationary locations all around the district.
You can check out the footage at the Justin.tv archive. Search by time and date for Nov 1, (2007) from approximately 4:30 to 6:00 PM. It’s not exactly compelling video as news or entertainment, but from a technical point of view it’s really exciting.
By Tuesday we should have everything worked out well enough, and I’ll be mostly moved into our new Campaign HQ. In the meantime, we’ll be testing the mobile link Sunday afternoon, at this Year’s Taste of the Town in Fort Myers. See you there!
