Happy to be wrong

Yesterday was a grim day. During the afternoon, I had a conversation with Chuck about the possibility of dropping out of the race if we didn’t see some real progress in the campaign over the next month. While it’s true we still have some organizational issues, I think mostly I was feeling depressed about the way the Presidential race seemed to be shaping up, and what that seemed to say about the leanings of the people in this district.

I made some 2008 Election Predictions in October, in which I predicted a likely Giuliani/Clinton race, and now that Giuliani has dropped out of the race, I’m happy to say that I was wrong. Despite my own occasional pessimism, and the bile of critics and pundits everywhere, democracy is still very much alive in America  …even in Florida!

Senator John McCain is the best of the Republican front-runners, and I believe he would be a President that I could work with as a Congressman to best represent the needs of this district and the nation.

Now if only I could be wrong about the likelihood of Senator Clinton’s nomination too…
