Our Financial Report from last quarter now is up at the FEC website.
We raised $3,700.00 and spent $3,015.71, slightly short of the $5,000 goal we set for the end of December. However, we have since crossed that threshold. It’s a modest start, but all in all I’m pleased, even if it’s apparently not enough to pique the interest of the News Press yet.
It was called to my attention that my blog entry yesterday might seem like a sign of weakness because I admitted I was momentarily considering dropping out of the race. It was even suggest that I should pull the post, but that, of course would be counter to our policy of Transparency, Integrity, and Accountability.
Nothing better illustrates the importance of this better than a story from the Harper’s Magazine website: What is 8433, LLC, and Why is it Contributing Money to Congressman Connie Mack?
We all make mistakes from time to time, and as I was filling out the campaign reports this week, I made every effort to include everything, no matter how minor for the sake transparency. If, by some chance, I missed something, it was an honest mistake, and I would admit it and make any necessary disclosures or amendments right away.
I can’t imagine anyone would do or expect anything less. This is just who I am, and this is how we do things here.
And for the record, I am still very much in this race. There was never any real doubt!
I am convinced now more than ever that is a genuine need to change the way things are done in Washington DC, and to change who is representing our district there…
