This week we have Volunteer meetings scheduled for Wednesday (Feb. 6)  at 7:00 PM, and Thursday (Feb. 7) at 5:00 PM.

The purpose of these meetings is to gather volunteers to start the petition drive to get my name of the ballot for Nov. We need 4,959 signatures of registered voters in the district by May 2.

To be on the safe side, we also need to go at least 10-20% over to cover potential rejections. Our goal is to gather 30 volunteers, which will mean a commitment of collecting 200 signatures each.  That’s what we’ll be organizing Wed and Thu.

Our other options are to pay the $6,608.00 registration fee, or to pay a service to collect the signatures. Doing this with volunteers is the most democratic way, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have some fun incentives. We’ll have T-shirts for everyone who reaches the minimum goal, and prizes and titles for the top collectors.
