Who represents you?

As I go out and talk with people not so much as a candidate, but in my everyday activities, there’s a question I constantly ask myself “Who is truly representing them in Washington DC?”

This afternoon I did a brief interview with WINK News (which will be airing tonight at 6:30) about third party candidates. This was spurred on by Ralph Nader’s entry in to the Presidential Race

I realized that this story might bring a few new viewers to this site, so I’ve been racking my brains for the last hour trying to come up with a really great blog entry to welcome them. Then it occurred to me that the one of the principle tenants of this campaign isn’t about me making speeches, it’s about getting people directly involved in the process.

Every politician these days likes to say they’re running a “grassroots” campaign, but in order for that to truly happen, we  actually need to work together on a human level. Anyone who is running to represent the people of  Southwest Florida needs to actually listen to the real people of this district, and not just the lobbyist and the special interests.

So, if you’re here for the first time, welcome.

Instead of me writing another blog entry, I want to hear from you. What are the issues that are most important to you? Let me know what you think needs to done.

I will be up at 8:00 PM live tonight. You can chat directly with me at JustinTV by clicking the “join chat” icon in the window on the right.

Or, feel free to leave a comment to any of the posts or videos. You can also e-mail me at jeff@crazyforcongress.com.

As always, I look forward to hearing from you.
